Kai is the last of the Brunnen-G, a proud and romantic race that long ago fought in and succeeded in winning the insect wars . The Brunnen-G race were annihilated by His Divine Shadow in a paranoid, erratic and evil act of genocide because it was prophesied by the Time Prophet that they would bring an end to The Divine Order and destroy His Divine Shadow. Kai watched his fighting companions, then his planet and entire race get destroyed and then he himself was killed by His Divine Shadow. He was kept in an animated state by a substance called Proto-Blood and controlled by His Divine Shadow. He was The Divine Shadow’s Assassin, and for 2000 years he ruthlessly killed many people with little to no discrimination. After the Lexx was taken by Stanley Tweedle, Zev and Gigerotta Kai in kill mode heard the distressed cries of the Divine Predecessors who were also on board the Lexx. Whilst protecting the Divine Predecessors he regained the memories of his life, relinquished his status as an assassin and then went on to fulfil the Time Prophet’s prophecy. Kai now is a crewmember of the Lexx and adamantly protects the other crewmembers. He is much loved by Xev and 790. Unfortunately Xev’s love for Kai (and 790’s) goes unrequited for the dead do not love…………
